When are mini dental implants recommended for Wichita patients?

It’s just like a couple of years ago, I had to have one of my front teeth incisors removed and we put an implant in and I want you to know, I fought it. I really and truly did, because for me, dentistry is personal. My teeth are part of me and they’re not an appendage that we can just remove at will. The tooth had split, had cracked up into the gum line, well actually into the root, and so once we found out that it was cracked into the root, I can understand it having to come out but having to have it removed, for me, was traumatic and he understood that and we had a flipper made and so I didn’t have to run around toothless and look like I’d lost 10% of my intelligence. [Laugh] I’m probably going on and on too much about that.

There are times a patient may need to consider dental implants. The team at East Wichita Dentist is proud to offer both traditional and mini dental implants. Wichita patients will appreciate the ability to use mini dental implants when their dental situation does not make them viable candidates for traditional implants. Traditional dental implants require that a patient have sufficient bone structure underneath their gum tissues otherwise, they will not be successful. Patients who are have insufficient bone structure for traditional implants may enjoy the benefits of mini dental implants.

Wichita patients can visit the dentists at East Wichita Dentist to find out if mini dental implants are right for them. Mini dental implants are best suited for patients who want to secure their cosmetic dentures. The healing process with mini dental implants is much shorter than traditional dental implants, as traditional implants require that the process of osseointegration occurs to hold the implant in place. Mini implants are smaller and can be used immediately to secure dentures.

The dentist that is overseeing a patient’s cosmetic dental procedures will be able to determine whether mini dental implants are right for him or her. Some patients may benefit more from a traditional implant. Others can use a mini dental implant to secure dentures in place quickly and easily without the long wait time for a traditional implant to heal. Both can be used to replace teeth and hold in dentures, and both are made of strong, high-quality titanium alloy for biocompatibility.

If you are considering mini dental implants and reside in the Wichita area, contact the team at East Wichita Dentist today to schedule a consultation appointment and examination to determine whether mini dental implants are right for you and your unique dental situation. You may be pleasantly surprised at the fast healing time and lower cost of mini dental implants, while still serving their purpose and helping your restore your smile!
